Admission of five students restored in SALU
Khairpur: The Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu) administration has restored the admission of five students and lifted ban on their entry in the university.

The students are: Zahid Hussain of BS, part IV (Chemistry), Shakir Ali of BCom, part III, Mohammad Zaman Kalwar of BS, part IV (Information Technology), Pervez Ali of BS, part-III, (Computer Science) and Majid Ali of BCom, part-I.

Their admission was suspended on the charge of leading May 27's protest by hosteller students against frequent power outages while semester examinations were in progress. The university administration called police to quell the protest and police used batons and tear gas against the students.

Later, cases were lodged against the students, the university was closed in the name of summer vacations and the remaining papers of semester examination were postponed.

Students Alliance of the university launched a protest campaign, demanding reopening of the university and continuation of the examinations.
