Students of Fatima Jinnah Women University  Rawalpindi students exhibit their art works

RAWALPINDI: The Fine Arts students of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Thursday exhibited their art works on the university premises.

Their works were displayed in the Fine Arts and Communication Sciences Department buildings. The exhibition comprised the thesis work of the bachelor and master’s classes’ students as a part of their degree requirement and it included oil paintings, miniatures, calligraphy, textile, graphic designing, print making and photography.

FJWU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Saeeda Asadullah Khan inaugurated the exhibition. She said the students’ work clearly presented their creativity, imagination and talent.

She said the students have beautifully translated their ideas into art pieces.

In the discipline of calligraphy, the students worked on dynamic art pieces with Islamic influence of art in calligraphy exploring Kufic and Naskh Style of Arabic calligraphy using different mediums and digital imaging. The work done in printmaking and oil painting was also outstanding.

In textile designing, a student beautifully applied the African art, motifs and designs in her work making it worth watching.

The exhibition was a blend of unique art objects and a true representative of the talent and creativity of young artists. It was indeed a fascinating achievement both for the students and the faculty. A large number of the faculty members and students visited the exhibition and appreciated the accomplishment of the students.
