Degrees conferred on 248 JM&DC graduates

Karachi: As many as 248 graduates of the Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JM&DC) were conferred on MBBS, BDS and Pharm.D degrees at the third annual convocation of the college on the college premises on Saturday.

Some 153 medical graduates from the batches of 2009 and 2010 of the JMDC were conferred on MBBS degrees while 78 graduates received Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees at the convocation.

In addition to that, 17 graduates were conferred on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degrees at the annual convocation.

Asad Rasheed was awarded the best graduate award for the 2009 batch of MBBS while Sania Iqbal received an award for the best graduate for 2010 as well as the first position holder from University of Karachi examination, 2010.

Anna Zulfiqar was declared the best student for the BDS batch 2009 while Falak Qamar Siddiqui clinched the best student award for the BDS 2010 batch.

Former Sindh governor and federal interior minister Lt-General (Retd) Moin-ud-Din Haider, in his keynote address on "The kind of doctors we need", urged the fresh medical graduates to work with dedication, honesty and loyalty and have faith in Allah Almighty while working as professionals.
