Board of Secondary Education, Karachi announces class IX General Group result

Karachi:The Board of Secondary Education, Karachi (BSEK) has announced result of SSC Part I, (Class IX), General Group, Annual Examinations, 2009 (Regular and Private) on Monday. A total of 31,629 candidates were registered and 30, 507 appeared in the exams. As per BSEK notification, 25,792 regular candidates registered and 25,079 appeared in the exams, whereas 5,428 out of a total of 5,837 private candidates appeared in the annual examinations.

BSEK officials declared that 10,883 regular and 2,104 private candidates passed all five exams, while 5,945 regular and 1,338 private students managed to clear four papers. Further, 4,107 regular and 864 private students cleared three papers, while 2,271 regular and 542 private students passed two exams. Those who could manage to pass only one exam included 1,242 regular and 344 private candidates.

As many as 6,602 out of total 6,843 male candidates in regular category appeared in the examinations and 241 were marked absent. On the other hand, some 18,477 out of a total of 18,949 female candidates in regular category appeared in the examinations and 472 were absent.

The BSEK announced that the results of 41 students would be decided after the authority completed investigations into allegations of resorting of unfair means. Similarly, the results of 65 students have been withheld for ‘want of correct information or permission’.

BSEK Controller of Examinations Kalim Asghar Kirmani said that marksheets will be issued after two weeks, and would be given to the authorised representatives of the schools concerned. He added that statements of private candidates will be mailed to their address as mentioned in the examinations admission form.
