Rawalpindi:The students of Bachelors of Computer Arts at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) their artwork in an exhibition under the theme of ‘Semester End Show 2010’ that showcased their diverse and creative work during the whole semester.

FJWU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saeeda Asadullah Khan inaugurated the display here on Wednesday in the university premises. Professor Dr. Saeeda Asadullah Khan, a big supporter of art applauded the efforts of the students, while speaking on the occasion said that efforts of the students are remarkable and their work is worth watching.

She also appreciated the efforts of the BCA faculty with a special mention to Ms. Fareena Iqbal, Incharge BCA Department in making the event a success. “The work done by the students is very impressive and indeed a showcase of the hard work of the students amalgamated with the support and dedication of their teachers,” she said.

Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences was also present on the occasion congratulated the students on doing a great job. She said, “Artists are part of our community and by presenting the social messages they have performed their part, that’s what we expect from them,” she said. The exhibition featured numerous art objects in the areas of photography, computer graphic, paintography, visual arts, tabletop animation, classical animation, documentary production, textile production, 2D n 3D Animation, Tradigital Art (a new art technique), campaign development and graphic designing. The Department of BCA provides an opportunity to the young and aspiring artists to exhibit their immense talent through displaying their creative endeavours.

The highlight of the show was the work done in the field of tabletop animation, classical animation, 2D and 3D animation, photography, visual arts and the work in the field of textile designing. The students also designed cushions, tablecloth, napkins, tissue boxes, bed sheets, rugs, wall hangings, shawls, shoes and mobile phone covers etc in a fabulous and innovative manner. One of the most exciting theme was on national unity and identity done in shades of green captivated the visitors. In the field of computer graphic many students created amalgamation of animation, video & 3D gaming. Interesting and dynamic visuals were created in the form of videos, games & short films. The storyboards of these animation sequences were also very appealing and attention grabbing for the visitors.

The work of the students was supervised by Zarin Gul, Hena Ali, Afshan Jamal, Darakhshan Batool, Kashif Kamal, Numair Abass, Lubna Yasmen, Rabia Zia, Baroosh Ahsan, Memoona Akram and Hamza Javed.The news
