School of Management Studies The University of Faisalabad
« on: April 28, 2009, 04:56:33 PM »
The School of Management Studies was established by virtue of The University Ordinance issued by the Government of Punjab in October 2002. This is indicative of the importance attached to this program by University authorities. The University has always hired highly qualified and experienced faculty to make the program market driven and job oriented. I feel proud that most of the graduates have been engaged in public and private sector institutions.

Some of them are working for their own enterprises while others have gone abroad for higher studies. I hope the success story will go a long way. I welcome the graduates seeking admission in this prestigious institution with all available facilities required for an effective learning environment. The students are involved in real life projects and discussion sessions along with regular class teaching. Our MBA and BBA students feel a positive change soon after they start their life at the campus. In fact, the faculty aims at producing business leaders of tomorrow who can face the challenges of Globalization.

The University updates its programs in the light of HEC policy for meeting the higher education requirements in the country. BBA (Hons) a 4 years program is already in progress. The program of MS Business Administration is being started for admitting graduates having BBA (Hons) 4 years degree. This program will strengthen the research activities in addition to enhancing the teaching standard at the University.

The department has also started MBA (Executive) in order to help in-service persons to improve their qualifications, skills as well as status. We shall continue to make best efforts to serve the nation. It is imperative that the training of students in this area should equip them to face the challenges and reap the opportunities. We, in the University of Faisalabad, try to develop work related attitude among the students through seminars, case studies, and other innovative techniques without compromising on quality. The courses of studies are designed under the guidelines provided by HEC and needbased which are periodically reviewed to incorporate latest developments in industries. The department aims to use multi-disciplinary approach to enrich the minds of students with enhanced standards of professionalism. The faculty uses participative simulation exercises, theoretical and empirical approach to prepare the students for a bright career in business, trade, commerce, industry and service sectors to take up leading management positions in the market. The graduates from the department are serving in public and private sector organizations. Recently the University hired the services of Mr Ismo Kuhanen, a British management consultant and educationist. The
students as well as faculty members had useful discussions with him and learnt a lot from his rich experience. A seminar was also conducted for local executives in Business and Industry. This was in line with our policy of developing linkages with Industries and use them in the best interest of our students.
