10 Punjab University employees injured in Islami Jamiat Tulba activists attack

LAHORE: The workers of Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT), with the help of external elements, attacked with batons and iron rods on Punjab University employees and security guards in which 10 employees were injured and 4 were rushed to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment by the Rescue 1122. The incident occurred when teachers were talking to IJT members for removing the illegal admission stall established without permission of university authorities outside the Faisal Auditorium on Monday. Suddenly IJT activists started misbehaving with the teachers and attacked on the employees with rods and batons in which 10 employees were injured, 5 were seriously injured and were taken to Jinnah Hospital by Rescue 1122. The university employees have strongly protested the incident and demanded strict action against the responsible elements of IJT. PU spokesman has said that the admissions were continued in the varsity and all the departments had established over 42 stalls where teachers, students and employees were guiding the students coming for admissions. Moreover, university administration had also established three main stalls outside Institute of Education & Research (IER), (ICS) and Centre of Undergraduate Studies where information in each respect was being provided to the students.
