Bangladeshi Writer Launches Book
Lahore:February 23:Bangladeshi publisher of the English-language newspaper ‘Dhaka Tribune and writer K.Anis Ahmed launched his latest book, ‘The World in my Hands’ at the Lahore Literary Festival here Saturday.
The book, published by Random House India, is Ahmed’s sophomore book and a political satire on Bangladesh’s ongoing political crisis facing the current Bangladeshi Awami League government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At the heart of the story, according to Ahmed, is the story of two friends who find their bond under threat when they are found on opposite ends of the political spectrum in an extremely polarized country. Bangladesh’s largely secular middleclass and Jamaat-supporting Islamic lower-classes are currently in conflict with each other over the 1971 war crimes trials in the country. The news.
