Job in Pak Army Medical officers and classified specialists

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE IN THE ARMED FORCES AS SHORT SERVICE REGULAR COMMISSION (SSRC) FOR PROMISING MEDICAL GRADUATES/ CLASSIFIED SPECIALIST IN THE RANK OF CAPTAIN / MAJOR

1. Applications from male/female General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), Specialists, as indicated below are invited for grant of Short Service Regular Commission (SSRC) in the Army. Candidates must fulfill the following conditions of eligibility:-

Forensic Medical, Pharmacology and Physiology) (LPG/HPG)
(Male/Female)

(c) Gynaecology HPG (Female)
(d) Pathology (HPG) (Male)
(e) Radiology (HPG) Male    

MBBS or equivalent qualifications recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC).
MBBS with higher postgraduate qualification i.e. MARCOG, FCPS (PAK) FRCS, MS American Boards/ Certificate or equivalent in respective fields of specialties.   

28 years as on 8 Mar 2010


32 years as on 8 Mar 2010. Relax able upto 40 years in individual cases on the recommendation of GHQ Selection Board.

2. Physical Standards
a. Height
(1) Female candidates - 5 Feet & 2 inches (157.5 cm)
(2) Male candidates - 5 Feet & 4 inches (162.5 cm)
b. Visual Standard
(1) Distance Vision - With glases - 6/9 , 6/12
(2) Near Vision - J2 , J7 or N8 , N12 with or without glases

3. Nationality

a. Male/Female Citizens of Pakistan/Azad Kashmir, Nationals and State Subject of Class-I.
b. Pakistani candidates having dual nationality will initiate the process for renunciation of their foreign nationality and will give an Undertaking before joining the Army that they will complete the procedure for renunciation of their foreign nationality prior to completion of their training.
c. Those failing to renounce their foreign nationality or do not complete the procedure, will not be granted commission. Additionally they will be liable to pay the training charges/bond money and will be released from the Army.

4. Ineligibility. Following are ineligible to apply:-

a.   Already screened out or rejected twice by Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) / General Headquarters (GHQ)/Naval Headquarters (NHQ) / Air Headquarters (AHQ) Selection Boards for any type of commission in the Armed Forces.
b.   Candidates twice rejected for Junior Cadets Course/Pakistan Military Academy Long Course/Graduate Course/Officer Training School (OTS) Short Course/equivalent of Pakistan Navy or Pakistan Air Force Courses. However, candidates attaining higher qualifications are eligible for third chance.
c.   A candidate, who is rejected once by ISSB for PMA/OTS/Junior Cadet Academy or equivalent Naval / PAF Courses and once rejected for Short Service Regular Commission entry, or Candidates twice rejected for Short Service Regular Commission.
d.   Previously declared medically unfit by an Appeal Medical Board for Army, Navy, and PAF.
e.   Released or discharged or withdrawn from the Armed Forces or any of its training establishments on grounds of inefficiency or indiscipline.
f.   Convicted by Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.

5. Selection Procedure

a.   ONLINE registration through internet with effect from 1-15 Feb 2010. Candidates can also register themselves at the Army Selection & Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) on spot before the conduct of written/other tests.
b.   Professional/Academic Written test and Intelligence/ Personality tests will be held at all Recruitment Centers as per the following schedule :-
o   (1) GDMOs (Male/Female) - 4 - 8 Mar 2010
o   (2) Specialist (Intelligence/ - 9 Mar 2010 Personality Tests only)

c.   Detailed information can also be obtained from the following AS&RCs where the tests shall be held :-

d.   The initial medical examination consisting on height/weight & vision will be checked as per the standard at AS&RCs .
e.   Detail Medical Examination. Recommended candidates shall be put through Medical examination at Military Hospitals nearest to their home stations.
f.   Appeal Medical Board of candidates will be held at Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi.
g.   Final Selection/Interviews.

 The recommended candidates shall be called for the final interviews by the GHQ Selection Board to assess their professional suitability at Lahore, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Rawalpindi, for which separate call letters will be issued. Final selection/merit will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of the candidates.
6. Documents Required at AS&RCs. All candidates will deposit following documents with the AS&ROs (Army Selection Recruitment Offices) before the academic tests :-

a.   Three attested copies of passport size photographs.
b.   Two attested photo copies of each educational certificates / degree / diploma and registration certificates of PM&DC.
c.   Two attested photo copies of house job certificate if already carried out.
d.   Photo copy of the new National Identity Card issued by NADRA.
e.   Attested photo copy of domicile.
f.   Crossed postal order of Rs. 100/- in favour of Director General Personnel Administration (DGPA), GHQ Rawalpindi with the representative of Selection and Recruitment Offices on the day of registration.
g.   Candidates serving in Govt Institutions/Departments will render no objection certificate from the concerned establishment along with the documents listed
above.
7. Bond. Finally selected candidates (Male/Female) will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 5 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of military training at PMA Kakul/Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute (AFPGMI) Rawalpindi.
8. Basic Military Training. Finally selected candidates will undergo 22 weeks Basic Military Training at PMA Kakul/AFPGMI Rawalpindi.
9. Grant of Commission. On successful completion of Basic Military Training candidates shall be granted commission in the Army in temporary rank of Captain/Major subject to their qualifications. Antedate seniority can be considered under the existing rules. Candidates possessing Lower Postgraduate (LPG) qualification shall be granted rank of Capt.
10. Previous Tests. Unsuccessful candidates of previous selection schedules can also apply subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions listed above.
11. Government servants will apply through proper channel if they fall within the age limit.
12. Candidates qualified from government Institutes shall be preferred.
