MARDAN, Dec 11: The Vice-chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof Ihsan Ali, has encouraged the private sector to make investment in educational institutions in the city to increase ratio of literacy in the society.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the new building of Mardan Institute of Sciences here on Saturday as chief guest.

He said that Abdul Wali Khan University granted affiliation to Mardan Institute of Sciences to encourage private sector to make more investment in the field of education for the welfare of general public.

Mr Ali termed the role of private sector vital in imparting qualitative education to the new generation. The government could not go forward alone in the education sector, he said.

He added that the authorities would take all possible measures to help the private educational institutions in the area.

The vice-chancellor said that education was the best and only source through which terrorism could be eliminated from the society as well as awareness could be created among masses against the menace.

The ceremony was also attend by Vice Principal of Bacha Khan Medical College Dr Jamil besides Dr Sardar, Dr Khalid, Dr Shahana Nisar and other members of the civil society.Dawn
