NED University Admission VC denies discrimination

NED VC denies discrimination in matters of admission
Karachi:Sindh Education Minister, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, in his capacity as the Pro-Chancellor, chaired the Senate meeting of the NED University of Engineering and Technology, here on Wednesday.

A spokesman of the Education Department said that the Vice-Chancellor of the NED University, Karachi, Engr. Abul Kalam, informed Pir Mazhar that students of all the Boards in the province were given admission to the NED University in accordance with the set rules and regulations.

Therefore, the impression is not true that youngsters from certain districts are denied admission to the NED University.

All the required rules and regulations are followed for the admission process.

A spokesman of NED University said that all the allocation of seats for admission to the bachelor’s level are distributed among the different boards of the province.

He said that the only condition was that the candidate should be domiciled in the province of Sindh.

Similarly, there is also provision for the Federal Board and the Cambridge system. Among the provinces, the seats are allocated on the reciprocal basis except FATA and Azad Kashmir. The NED University’s budget for the year 2010-11 was alsoapproved at the Senate meeting.
