SINDH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION Functions

a. The primary charter of functions of the Commission as specified in Section 7 of SPSC Act 1989 is: Conduct examinations, tests and interviews for recruitment of human resources for initial regular appointment to civil posts connected with the affairs of Sindh Province in BPS 11 and above.

b. Conduct tests for initial recruitment to posts in or under a Corporation or other Autonomous Bodies or Organizations set up by Government of Sindh (GoS), under any law or otherwise as may be prescribed.

c. Recommend revision/updating and designing of curricula prescribed for various cadres.

d. Advise Government on:

         1.
            Matters relating to qualifications for and methods of appointment to the posts.
         2. Any matter referred to the Commission by the Government of Sindh.
         3. Procedures and Rules and other issues pertaining to absorption of officers of various services and cadres of PCS.

e. Hold Departmental/Entrance and Language Examinations as required.
