Andragogical, pedagogical skills workshop concludes at NUML
ISLAMABAD:02 January: The National University of Modern Languages (NUML)’s Department of English Studies with the collaboration of the Higher Education Department (HEC) organised a three-day training workshop for faculty development. HEC Director General Fida Hussain was the chief guest on the closing session, while NUML Director General Brig (r) Muhammad Ibrahim, Registrar Aminullah Khan, Languages Dean Dr Safeer Awan and Social Sciences Dean Dr Sufiana Khatoon also attended the closing ceremony. The Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPD) conducts various capacity building and refresher courses for teaching faculty of higher education institutions across Pakistan. These workshops are aimed to providing the background and skills necessary for faculty members to participate positively in academic activities of universities. The main objectives are to orient teachers in specified subject and teaching techniques. These programmes enable teachers to acquire knowledge, skills and techniques regarding efficient teaching and empower the teaching faculty of universities and degree awarding institutions with the latest tools, pedagogical skills and techniques pertaining to their disciplines.Published in Daily Times, January 2nd 2018.
