Purchase of equipment for Timergara Medical College
TIMERGARA:15 May: The Finance Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has released a supplementary grant of Rs300 million for purchase of equipment for the much-awaited Timergara Medical College (TMC).

The grant was approved by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on the request of member provincial assembly (MPA) and chairman standing committee on Health Dr Sumaira Shams, who called on the former at his office and demanded the release of the supplementary grant for the TMC. The chief minister approved the grant and directed the relevant authorities to process the case.

MPA Dr Sumaira Shams told The News that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had assured that more funds would be allocated for the TMC project in the upcoming annual budget.

“The current PTI government would fulfil its commitment of establishing TMC in Lower Dir,” Dr Sumera Shams said and added the baseless propaganda against PTI government for doing away with TMC project had proved to be false.

The people of Dir are grateful to the chief minister for showing personal interest in connection with the release of supplementary grant for the TMC, she added.

It is worth mentioning here that the TMC project was announced by the previous PTI government and the then chief minister Pervez Khattak had inaugurated it.

However, the project was consigned to the cold storage since then and the political opponents in Lower Dir often used to taunt the PTI-led provincial government for doing away with the only mega-project for Dir.The news.
