BKMC Student Clinches Top Position in MBBS Exam
Peshawar :12 August: A girl student of first batch of the Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC), Mardan, Shandana Noor, has clinched top position in the MBBS final year examination of all the medical colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, conducted the examination and announced results of MBBS final year examination on Tuesday.
The BKMC student Shandana Noor obtained 1644 out of the total 2000 marks.
After its establishment in January 2010, it is the first batch of BKMC after its inception and made the college principal and its faculty members proud.
Waqas Ahmad and Hira Ishaq of the Khyber Medical College (KMC) Peshawar obtained second and third positions with 1,632 and 1,624 marks, respectively.
Speaking at a press conference here, BKMC Principal Dr Ziaul Islam termed it an honour for the college and its faculty, saying its first badge had obtained first position in all medical colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
BKMC Vice Principal Dr Abdul Jamil and faculty members, including Dr Umar Khitab, Dr Ameer Khan, Dr Zia Mohammad, Dr Ijaz Gul and others were also present.
Dr Ziaul Islam said that overall passing percentage was 98.

 

“It’s an honour for all of us. We developed a good culture of a strong interaction between the teaching staff and students that enabled our students to perform well. They obtained good marks, which is a big achievement for the newly established medical college,” he remarked.
The top position holder Shandana Noor praised her teachers for their commitment and positive behaviour. She plans to do specialisation in neurosurgery.
Before his current assignment, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) government made Dr Ziaul Islam project director of the girls campus of KMC.
Keeping in view his experience and skills, when the Awami National Party (ANP)-led government decided to set up a medical college in Mardan, they chose Dr Ziaul Islam and tasked him with setting up the college.The news.
