Matric results announced in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, July 07, 2008: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Hyderabad, here on Saturday announced the results of science and general groups of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-II (matriculation) examinations 2008.

Controller Examinations BISE, Hyderabad, Professor Mohsin Atta, announced the results through a gazette notification.

In all, 43,066 candidates got themselves enrolled for the examination in the science group. A total of 43,046 appeared in the exam and 38,334 candidates passed it. The percentage of successful male candidates was 88.01 percent while the percentage of successful female candidates was 90.86 percent.

Among the successful candidates, 5,240 secured A-1 grade, 11,728 A grade, 12,721 B grade, 7,392 C grade and 1,251 D grade while the results of 220 candidates were withheld for various reasons.

Among the boys in the science group, Raja Awais Shafiq of the Cadet College Petaro secured the first position, Chaudhry Rehman Hussain of the Foundation Public School and Ubaid-ur-Rahman and Muhammad Haris Chaudhry of the Cadet College Petaro secured the second positions while Shaharyar Bashir of the Public School, Hyderabad, and Amir Ali Drigh of the Cadet College Petaro secured the third position.

Among the girls, Daniya of the Falconhouse Grammar School and Ainul Saba of The Educators secured the first position, Asma Kafeel of the Falconhouse Grammar School secured the second position while Seeratul Urooj of the School of Excellence and Dua of the Beacon House Public School secured the third position.

A total of 2,085 candidates appeared in the general group examinations, of which 1,446 passed the exams. Six candidates got the A-1 grade, 160 A grade, 468 B grade, 556 C grade and 163 D grade while the results of 26 candidates were withheld.

Muhammad Rafiq of the Noorul Islam High School, Tando Muhammad Khan, secured the first position, Rashid of the Government Boys High School, Sujawal, secured the second position and Faheem of the Government Boys School, Sujawal, secured the third position.

Among the girls, Alia of the Government Hani Girls High School secured the first position, Shizra of the Government Girls High School, Tando Muhammad Khan, secured the second position and Musarratunisa of the Government Girls Pilot High School secured the third position. The News
