Charles Strut University, Australia Students visit University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore

LAHORE (APP): A student delegation from the Charles Strut University, Australia, visited the City Campus of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, and called on VC Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz on Friday. The Australian students took a round of the campus, visited various departments and labratories, including the WTO quality operation lab, the university diagnostic lab, the pet centre, outdoor clinic, postmortem section, Institute of Pharmaceutical Studies, university library etc, says a press release here Friday. The visiting students saw the technologists at work in the labs and also interacted with the faculty members. Ms Sakhra Mahmood of the Institute of Continuing Education and Extension, and Hassan Mahmood Warraich from the Agriculture Sector Linkages Programs (ASLP) coordinated their visit to the UVAS. Earlier, the VC briefed them about the academic courses, research projects, training services and developmental projects of the 'varsity, observing that UVAS is the only full-fledged university in the country imparting higher education in veterinary/ animal sciences and related disciplines. He said that the academic and training courses are driven by market needs and demands. He also told the delegation that the UVAS Ravi Campus is being developed over 811 acres with necessary infrastructure for imparting academic, research and training services at par with international standards. The VC also briefed the Australian guests about the linkages and collaborations developed with national and international organizations and educational institutions.
