Pakistan Academy of Letters Book ‘Intekhab Pakistani Adab’ launched
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has published a book containing a selection of poetry and fiction under the title “Intekhab Pakistani Adab (1947-2008)” in all Pakistani regional languages.

The book in Balochi and Brahvi languages was launched on Thursday at a ceremony. PAL Chairman Fakhar Zaman said this selection of Pakistani literature from all Pakistani languages from 1947-2008 reflected different trends in the literary scenario of Pakistan. “It’s a first time that PAL has published selection of poetry and fiction in Pakistani languages like Urdu, Punjabi,Seraiki, Pashto, Hindko, Sindhi, Balochi, Brahvi, Balti, Shina and Gujrati over the last 62 years,” he said.

PAL chairman said the book had the status of a reference document for the researchers and common readers.

He said the book contained writings of major writers like Maulana Khair Nadvi, Azat Jamaldeni, Muhammad Hussain Anqa, Syed Zahoor Hashmi, Murad Sahir, Karim Dashti, Atta Shad, Akbar Barkzai, Shah Muhammad Marri, Surat Khan Marri, Abdullah Jan Jamaldeni, Hakeem Baloch, Gul Bangalzai, Nadir Qambrani, Abdul Rehman Brahvi, Ghulam Nabi Rahi and Ghulam Haider Hasrat. Wahid Bakhsh Buzdar has compiled this selection while Saeeda Durrani supervised its production.Daily times
