University of Agriculture Faisalabad Budget Approved
Faisalabad : June 11: The Finance and Planning Committee of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Monday approved the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2013-14 amounting to Rs 3.197 billion.
The committee met under the chairmanship of UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and was informed about the financial position of the university. Apprising the committee, the VC said that the varsity was facing budget deficit owing to non-payment of enhanced salaries by the federal government and sky-touching energy and fuel prices. Giving bifurcation of the proposed budget, the treasurer said that out of Rs 3197.528 million budget, a sum of Rs 2701.332 million would be placed under non-development budget which includes Rs 627.332 budget deficit. The committee also gave nod to Rs 233.976 and Rs 262.220 allocations under the federal grant and development grant by the Punjab government respectively for the year under discussion. Punjab Agricultural Planning Deputy Secretary Naeem Khalid and Local Fund Audit Director Amir Saeed represented the government of Punjab whereas Registrar Ch Muhammad Hussain, Acting Treasurer Ashraf Mumtaz, Dr Abdus Salam Khan, Dr Muhammad Sarwar, Dr Amjad Aulakh, Dr Muhammad Asghar Bajwa, Dr Nisar Ahmad Khan, Brig (retd) Javed Anwar, Dr Tahir Zahoor and Umar Saeed also attended the meeting.The news.
