Sindh Minister for Education said on FridayTeachers salary scales to be upgraded
Karachi:Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq said on Friday that a proposal is being considered to upgrade the salary scales of teachers as well as increasing incentives for them.
Talking to a group of news personnel in the media centre within Sindh Assembly premises, he said:The World Bank (WB) has set a condition of conducting transparent recruitment of teachers for issuing a grant to Pakistan. No funds would be available for teachers salaries if we do not meet the condition, he added.
The WB has asked us to prefer recruiting locals as teachers in areas where there is a need. Under the new WB plan in this regard, the quota of assembly members in jobs has been abolished, he said.
He further stated that effective measures are being taken to ensure reopening ofghost schools in Sindh, and when this process is complete, more teachers would be recruited for these schools.
