PMDC computerisation starts
LAHORE:January 21:The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has started the process of implementing digitalisation system for its better functioning.

Ad hoc Council of PMDC Chairman Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan (retd) chaired a meeting at PMDC office on Saturday to improve and revamp the IT system of the office and to implement digitalisation system to speed up the working and to move towards paperless environment, said a press release issued here.

National Information Technology Board Director General Farjeel Javed and project head Bilal Abbasi gave a briefing on the digitalisation system going to be implemented.

The digitalisation system would includes e-office system which is the first step towards automation of the working and paperless environment. After that, other system is the management information system which would help digitalisation of software system for all institutions imparting medical/dental education and online registration system, etc.

The purpose of the e-office system is to provide a standard platform common to all federal organisations, keeping in view the existing rules and regulations of the organisation and to provide a fast, reliable and transparent system for quick disposal of working and to reduce the unnecessary delay and the cost associated with traditional physical file system and record keeping.

The chairman said that, with this system, the doctors and medical dental institutions would be facilitated promptly. He appreciated Prof Mubashir Malik for facilitating the process of digitalisation.

Mian Shakirullah Jan directed immediate start of the process. On his directions, letters have been written to the National Informational Technology Board to start the process.The news.
