University of Veterinary not to Raise Fees in its Budget
Lahore:June 27:DESPITE financial constraints, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore has decided not to raise the fee in its budget for the financial year 2013-14.
Chairing UVAS syndicate meeting held on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that keeping in view the financial constraints of its students and their parents, the university had decided not to increase the students’ fees for next academic session. The syndicate members endorsed this step of the university administration for the benefit of students.
The Vice-Chancellor told the meeting that the university was offering various types of scholarships to its students, and the scholarship amount had been increased by Rs 16.631 million.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the syndicate approved the university budget 2013-14 with an estimated outlay of Rs 1,145.996 million and an estimated income of Rs 1085.781 million with a deficit of Rs 60.215 million. In this estimated income, the university expects to generate Rs 365.294 million from its own resources. The university allocated Rs 469.899 million for its ongoing and new development projects for the coming financial year.The news.
