KEMU forms body to probe torture of student
Lahore :21 October :The King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Tuesday constituted a fact finding committee to investigate the incident of torture on a student at the Neurology Ward of the Mayo Hospital the other day.

The fact finding committee, comprising Prof Dr Athar Javaid, Department of Neurology, Prof Dr Imran Sahaf, Department of Ophthalmology, and Prof Dr Aftab Asif, Department of Psychiatry, has stated that the inquiry into the incident of torture at gunpoint on Dr Zafarullah by some doctors, including Dr Naveed Malik of Orthopaedic Unit-II, Dr Abdul Rauf Khan alias Mitha Khan, Dr Iftikhar, Dr Haseeb and four others, would be conducted.

The committee held its first hearing where they recorded statements and collected evidences from victim Dr Zafarullah, professor and other doctors of the ward, patients and attendants of the Neurology Ward, who were present on the spot. The fact finding committee will present its report at the earliest following which a disciplinary committee will be formed on the basis of this report.The news.
