Health University workers lament Shahbaz Silence

Lahore: The 'recently-fired' employees of the University of Health Sciences have lamented the silence of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif over varsity's act of termination of employees who are holding peaceful protest for their right to regularisation of their services.

The UHS employees continued their hunger strike and protest demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly on 48th consecutive day on Tuesday for fulfillment of their demand of not only restoration but regularisation of their services. They demanded Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif protect the livelihood of grade 1 to 15 employees of the university and their families otherwise they would not be able to support their families in unemployment. "Our families are already suffering from starvation," they said. They also urged the human rights organisations to help them in restoration and regularisation.

The employees announced their protest and hunger strike camp till fulfillment of their demands of restoration and regularisation of their services.
