INTRODUCTION
AIMC Library was established in 1975 with the inception of this institute. This library has passed through many phases of evolution to reach the present “Integrated Libraries & Information Service Network” which is being developed in pursuance of the great vision of our Worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram. We are going through an ambitious program of computerization of its services and operation.
Library of a medical institute has to play a vital role in achieving the objectives of the institution which includes medical education, teaching and research .
The library services have been designed and organized to support the academic and research activities of faculty staff and students.
Focus of the library policies is to cater services to students of Allama Iqbal Medical College, students of Nursing College, PG students working at AIMC/JH, Doctors of Jinnah Hospital and researchers.
Our vision is to excel in facilitating academic and scholarly endeavor of our users in their research requirements through utilizing the resources, systems and services in best possible way.
The Libraries of AIMC/JH and Departmental Libraries are being managed and organized by Mr. Aziz ur Rehman Qureshi, Chief Librarian, AIMC/JH Complex. He is a Gold Medalist in M.A. Library Science and serving in this institute since 1986.
