VC encourages FJWU newcomers to sharpen academic skills

Rawalpindi: As per traditions, orientation ceremony of the newly admitted students (session 2008-12) was held at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) here on Monday.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Saeeda Asadullah Khan, FJWU vice chancellor, congratulated the students for being part of the institution. She said, "The institution endeavours professionalism and demands sense of responsibility from its students. The FJWU provides an environment that enables its students develop academic, moral and spiritual excellence."

Dr Saeeda advised the students to take the opportunity that had been bestowed upon them and put all their efforts to achieve the skills of academic excellence. She said a depth of meaning was associated with Quaid's motto of Unity, Faith and Discipline.

Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, briefed the newly enrolled students about the university's environment and its activities. She said, "The FJWU provides its students academic skills, knowledge and resources and expects its students to think analytically and behave professionally in each and every field of life."

Prof Dr Naheed Zia Khan, Dean Faculty of Law, Commerce and Management & Administrative Sciences, informed the newcomers about university's disciplinary rules, its curricular and extra curricular activities.

Dr Musarrat A Sheikh, Controller Examination, Ms Nighat Raza, Director Admissions, Dr Huma Jahangir, FJWU Medical Office, and Ms Humaira Saadia, Placement Officer, also spoke on the occasion.
