Police arrests seven criminals
LAHORE (APP): Civil Lines Investigation and CIA Model Town Police have arrested seven criminals of two gangs involved in making bogus degrees and a number of incidents of dacoity in various parts of the city. Police told here Wednesday that five bogus degrees, mobile phone sets and sleeping pills were also recovered from the accused. According to the details, SP CIA Police Muhammad Umer Virk on the direction of CCPO Pervez Rathore constituted a special team headed by SI Khalid Pervez to arrest the gang involved in making of bogus educational degrees as well as certificates. This team arrested five members of gang while they were waiting for their customers in a hotel at Model Town. The names of the arrested criminals are Khalid Mehmood, Arshad, Muhammad Hussain, Waris Ali and Rana Sarwar. It is pertinent to mention here that accused Sarwar is the regular employee of Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education while Waris Ali was dismissed from service from the same department. A case has been registered against the gang in Model Town police station while the further investigation is under way. Additionally,on the directions by SSP Operations Shafiq Ahmed, a team headed by SP Investigation Haider Ashraf comprising DSP Rana Azeem and other officials was formed to take appropriate measures for curbing the incidents of dacoity in the area.
