Trainee doctors at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences continue protest
ISLAMABAD: Trainee doctors and house officers at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Saturday continued their strike against the appointment of head of Cardiac Centre. Trainee Doctors and House Officers Association Chairman Dr Sajid demanded of the minister for health to look into the matter and cancel appointment of the Cardiac Centre head in interest of the hospital and doctors. He said appointment of Dr Naeem Tareen was absolutely in violation of PMDC and FPSC rules. He said the Cardiac Centre had recently been established at PIMS by personal efforts of Cardiology Faculty members, of which Dr Tareen had never been a member. He said the faculty members had far more experience than Dr Tareen so they deserved the post. app
