From Saturday the Wahdat Muslimeen Convention will be held with scholars from Pakistan, Iran, the UAE, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Britain, the US, France and India. On Sunday, a general meeting will be held to announce the newly elected ISO president who will also take oath.

At the end of the convention, a Wahdat Muslimeen rally will be organised. The ISOP's ex-president Rizwan Kazmi said at times Shia youth were active in different colleges and universities in different student organizationsn such as the Imamia Students Federation (ISF), Shia Students Federation (SSF), Jamiat Tuleba Asna Ashri (JTAA) and Shia Students Association (SSA), but there was no central organisation for them. On May 22, 1972, a countrywide convention was held for them and it was decided that a central Shia students organisation would be organized. The ISO's central president is elected for one year.
