Prof. Rana Arshad Qazi, Principal FG College, Kashmir Road was the honorable chief guest on this occasion. The ceremony started with the recitation of Quranic verses by Mehwish Shaheen. Nighat Younas presented ‘Naat’.

College anthem was presented by Nighat, Sumayya, Surraya, Muqaddas and Maheen. Durr-e-Shahwar Tariq, the head of English Department presented an introduction to the ceremony. “The prime aim of any sound educational system is to develop an-all round personality of its students, focusing on their intellectual, physical, moral and social development,” she said. Today’s ceremony was organised to acknowledge and reward the diligence, hard work, dedication and perseverance of the high achievers in academics and co-curricular activities for the year 2018-19.

A ‘musical skit’ on the current situation of the country and the services rendered by our armed forces, was highly motivational. Human beings are always pursued by hundreds of desires during the course of their life, yet these desires are often embittered and thwarted by the stark of realities of life. Based on this theme was a drama ‘Hazaron Khwahishain Aisi’ brilliantly performed by Sajar Ali, Aimen and Jiya which won a great deal of applause.

A song of spring was chanted by Nighat Younas and Sajar Ali to welcome the season of spring with promises of new joys, freshness and life.

The chief guest Professor Rana Arshad Qazi distributed prizes, certificates among the high achievers. Subject prizes were also awarded to the highest scorers in different subjects at intermediate and graduation level. High achievers of co-curricular activities received certificates for being declared the ‘Best’ in their respective fields.

In her address to the students the principal Prof. Rana Arshad Qazi congratulated the prize winners on their academic and co curricular achievements. “Our country is passing through an important phase of taboo transformation, whether it be beyond the border provocations, or the implementation of anti-corruption laws; what is most important at the moment is an awareness, an introspective eye to discriminate right from wrong, a determined will to raise voice against injustice and a desire to silence the unwanted slogans of disruption and war”, she said.

She asked the students to be aware of their academic, civic and social responsibilities and to develop their self-identity through sincerity and commitment. This solemn ceremony ended with the recitation of national anthem. The news.
