Governor distributes stipend to FATA students
PESHAWAR:October 16:Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Shah Farman on Thursday awarded scholarships worth Rs9 million to 35 students from the erstwhile federally administered tribal areas (FATA) who are studying at the Edwards College Peshawar.
The stipend distribution ceremony was held at the Governor House on Thursday — which is located just across the road from the college. It was attended by Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters, president Bishop Church of Pakistan, Diocese of Peshawar, Senator Brigadier (retired) John Kenneth Williams, Principal of the college Prof. Brigadier (retired) Nayyar Firdous and a large number of students.

During the ceremony, the governor said students are precious assets of the nation and an educational system based on transparency and merit can bring positive change in society.

He said that Edwards College has earned an enviable reputation by producing great leaders who have proven themselves in discharging their duties and professional responsibilities.

The governor further highlighted that the award ceremony marked the commitment of Edwards College to the development of Fata.

He said that it is encouraging to know that Edwards College has extended financial assistance to Fata students.
