Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkana

Introduction

The Governor Sindh / Controlling Authority of all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Sindh was pleased to amend the Sindh Boards of  Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance 1972, and bifurcated the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sukkur by promulgating an ordinance in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under clause (1) of article 128 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and subsequently passed by Provincial Assembly of Sindh on 17th December 1995, under which the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkana was established, having a jurisdiction of three districts in the first instance, viz Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad. Thereafter two Talukas of District Dadu viz Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah were also included in its Jurisdiction. Its boundaries are in west with Balochistan, in east with Sukkur division, in north with Balochistan and the Punjab and in south with Hyderabad division.

Mr. Ali Nawaz Palijo took over as a first chairman on 19th December 1995 with a team of four officers and five officials were transferred permanently   by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sukkur. Initially, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Larkana started functioning, in the building of the office of Superintendent Engineer Irrigation Department, subsequently two buildings were hired, situated in Ghalib Nagar comprising of 09 rooms.  The examination wing was established in one house and administration wing in an other house. Due to insufficient accommodation for smooth working the Board was again shifted to Gajjanpur Muhalla in rented house, but the same building was not accommodating staff due to the day by day increasing work of the Board, so the efforts were put to hire the building of Sindh Small Industry, which is comparatively spacious to meet the requirement of the Board, but this building is also insufficient , as the requirement of accommodation expands, day by day, so in view of accommodation requirement a plot measuring 21.8 acres of land i.e (Khosa Mill), situated at Deh Dodai at Ratodero Road Larkana, was purchased.

Prior to above, the Governor Sindh / Controlling authority of Sindh Boards was further pleased to constitute a Committee comprising of Mr. Israr Ahmed Shaikh Secretary to Governor  Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Ilyas Director Local  Fund Audit Karachi, Dr. Shaib Khan Channa Chairman BISE Hyderabad, Mr. Allahdad Bozdar Chairman, BISE Sukkur  and Mr. Ali Nawaz Palijo Chairman BISE, Larkana to distribute the funds, assets and liabilities of Sukkur Board for the establishment of board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Larkana.
The newly established Board conduced its first Annual examination in 1997, since then the Board is conducting its examinations regularly.

At present the area wise jurisdiction of this Board comprises district Larkana, Kambar-Shahdadkot at Kamber, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore at Kandhkot and two talukas of district Dadu, viz Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah.
