Boys outshine girls in Inter Exam
Lahore:17 september :Boys outshone girls in the Intermediate Annual Examination 2016 of Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) as they bagged two top positions while the third position was shared by three students, including a girl.

Lahore BISE Chairman Ch Muhammad Ismail announced the names of the high achievers during a press conference at the board’s office here on Friday.

Ubaidullah Muhammad Naeem of Punjab College of Science bagged the overall top position with 1,054 marks while Usman Khalid of Pak-Turk International Higher Secondary School second place with 1,052 marks.

The third position was shared by Ahmad Zia of KIPS College, Sibghatallah Anwar of Punjab College for Women and Muhammad Umar Hassan of Punjab College as they secured 1,045 marks each.

In the Pre-Engineering Group, among boys, Ubaidullah Naeem, Usman Khalid and Ahmad Zia topped while Sibghatallah topped this group among girls. Minahil Raza, 1,041 marks, of Kinnaird College and Michelle Akaishi, 1,039 marks, of Punjab College clinched second and third positions in this group.

In Pre-Medical Group, among boys, Muhammad Umar Hassan stood first while Tajamal Hayat of Government College University (GCU) bagged second position with 1,042 marks.

The third position in this category was shared by Hafiz Sohail Ashraf of GCU and Touseef Ur Rehman of Pak-Turk School with 1,041 marks each.

In Pre-Medical Group, among girls, Ruhma Malik of KIPS College stood first with 1,043 marks and Dania Jamil of the same college second with 1,042 marks.

The third position in this group was shared by Maleeha Zubair Chawla of KIPS College, Dur-e-Najaf and Ain ul Haq of Punjab College by securing 1,041 marks.

Hamzah Baig, 1,022 marks, Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad, 1,020 marks, of GCU and Muhammad Zaid, 1,017 marks, of Punjab College bagged first, second and third position respectively in the General Science Group among boys.

Khadija Kamran, 1,022, of Kinnaird College, Amna Iqbal, 1,015 marks and Sameen Mehtab, 1,014 marks, both from Punjab College, clinched first, second and third positions in this group among girls.

In Commerce Group, among boys, Muhammad Haris, 1,004 marks, Muhammad Umar, 1,003 marks, and Syed Muneeb Ali, 992 marks, are the toppers and all from Punjab College of Commerce while the toppers among girls in this group are Kiran Ejaz, 1,010 marks, Esha Fatima, 1,008 marks and Afnan Zubair, 993 marks. They are also from Punjab College.

In Humanities Group, among boys, the toppers are Shah Nawaz, 965 marks, of GCU, a private student Rayyan Abdul Khaliq, 953 marks and Muhammad Ishaq, 935 marks, of Government College University while among girls the toppers are a private student, Lubna Bunyad, 998 marks, Ume Laila, 985 marks, of Queen Mary College and a private student, Rimza Kanwal, 974 marks.

Arifa Khan Gold Medal for highest marks in the subject of psychology has been awarded to Shahab Ali Khan, 172 marks, of GCU while, among girls, Amina Shafqat, 184 marks, of Government College for Women, Kasur, got this medal.   

All the nine BISEs of Punjab, including Lahore Board, will announce the results of Intermediate Annual Examinations today while ceremonies to honour the toppers will also be announced today.The news.
