Pakistan Talent Council holds 24th national awards event in Abbottabad
PESHAWAR:January 01: The Pakistan Talent Council held a function in Abbottabad to give its 24th annual national talent award gold medals to people who excelled in different fields.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, the higher education minister for KP was the chief guest.Former world champion Qamar Zaman and senior journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai were invited to preside over the function at the Jalal Baba Auditorium in Abbottabad, but they couldn't make it due to unavoidable circumstances.

The organizers included Syed Sajid Shah, the founder and chairman of the Pakistan Talent Council, senior lawyer Muhammad Idrees Awan and Syed Salim Shah. The awards were given to Syed Junaid Mustafa for Qirat, Saba Pervez for Naat, Saeed Akhtar Malik and Ahmad Hussain Mujahid for literature, Muhammad Tariq Tanoli for journalism, lawyers Fazal Haq Abbasi and Masoodur Rahman Awan in the field of law, Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Aamir Altaf and Ahsan Naveed Irfan for medicine, Salim Hayat, Aftab Ahmad, Abdul Wahid Mir and Asif Khan Jadoon for education, Sardar Sherdil and Shaikh Nisar Ahmad for social work, Amjad Aziz Malik for sports journalism, Waqas in boxing and Komal Khan for imparting education to special children.

TV anchor Kashif Malik and stage director Munawar Afridi were also given awards along with Khalid Khattak from PTV Hindko and Arshad Hussain from PTV Pashto. Martyred traffic cop Khurram Khan and Qamat Hayat Khan and Azam Mir Afzal from the KP Police also received awards. Lifetime achievements awards were presented to Colonel (R) Qasim, television artists Nasim Abbas, Farooq Qaiser and Basit Khan and to minister Mushtaq Ghani.
