Envoy underscores importance of public diplomacy among countries
ISLAMABAD: 21 October :  The Roots IVY University College on Tuesday invited Ambassador Jauhar Saleem for an interactive session with the undergraduate and A-levels students to enlighten them about the dynamics and functions of the prestigious Foreign Service of Pakistan. Ambassador Saleem is Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Germany.

He gave a detailed presentation to the students on prospective careers in the Foreign Office. He stressed upon the need to uphold the national interests of Pakistan in relations with other countries. He said the Foreign Office in coordination with other state institutions serves as the first line of defence of our country. He also underscored the importance of public diplomacy in modern conduct of relations among countries.

He informed the students that women were now working at par with their male colleagues, which is an extremely positive development. He suggested to the young girls to join the foreign service of Pakistan as a career. The presentation was followed by a question-answer session.

Ms Khadija Mushtaq, the CEO and Executive Director of Roots IVY University, thanked Ambassador Saleem for a highly inspiring session. She remarked that the discussion had infused the students with a passion to serve their country and protect its national interests.
