Lahore High Court on Friday allows announcement of Martic result
LAHORE:The Lahore High Court on Friday allowed the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Lahore, to announce the Matriculation result on Saturday (today) after the board chairman told the court that instructions had already been issued to the examiners to give grace marks to the students.
Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman allowed the announcement of the result while disposing of a petition filed by Arshad Abbas, a teacher of Jamia High school Sheikhupura.
The petitioner through his counsel Khawar Ikram Bhatti had submitted that the petitioner appeared in the exam and answered all the questions according to the syllabus and course recommended by the board. The counsel said the answer sheets, as per routine, provided to all examiners were not in accordance with the syllabus. He said the anomaly would badly affect the marking of the papers because the examiners would mark questions as per answer provided to them.
He said the board had announced the date for result and present marking could cause serious damage to the petitioner and thousands of other students.
