Rs 170m released for Jalozai campus of University of Engineering Peshawar
NOWSHERA (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum Eng. Tariq Khattak said that Prime Minister has approved Rs 170 million for new campus of University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar at Jalozai where work was in full swing. Speaking at a function at village Pir Piai, Nowshera district he said Prime Minister had approved Rs 170 million for establishing the educational facility, which was a long standing demand of people of the area. Before, he said the students would go to Peshawar city for getting engineering education but now, he added, they would be having a full-fledged campus in their own city to get quality education. He said that educational structure would house an International Law College and would be equipped with all facilities including well-qualified and experienced teaching staff and go a long way in ensuring quality education in the area. He said that the PPP-led government was taking solid steps for promoting quality education in the country and the setting up of the UET Peshawar campus was part of these efforts. He said work on provision of Sui gas facility to different villages of Nowshera was in full swing and hoped the project would be completed well before winter season. He said the PPP-led government so far provided sui gas facility at villages Balu, Tarkha, Tetara, Khushmaqam, Nasir Killay, Dag Imail Khel, Babi Jadeed, Babi Kadeem, Jalozai, Kaka Sahib and Manki Sharif. While work on provision of gas facilities was under way at Akbarpura, Kandar, Natal, Campkoruna, Amankot, Mohib Banda, Khudraze, Dera Ishaq, Pashtun Garri and Valai. He said that construction work of bridge over a seasonal stream at Pir Piai would be completed soon. The function was also addressed, among others, by president PPP district Nowshera and minister for Excise and Taxation Liaqat Shabab, Minister for Irrigation, Pervez Khattak, General Secretary PPP Muhammad Farooq Advocate and Chairman PPP, Pir Piai Sabiullah Jan Manduri.Frontier post
