Medics held for hurling threats at University of Health Sciences VC
LAHORE, July 8: Police have arrested two students of a private medical institution for trespassing the house of University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor Prof Hussain Mubbashar Malik and hurling threats at him.
According to FIR registered in Hanjarwal police station, Ali Hasan and Saeed Shahid reported to be the students of College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lahore, trespassed the VC’s house in Tech Society and hurled threats at him on Wednesday night.
The guards present there overpowered them and handed them over to the police. The guards told police that a fire was also shot at the house of Prof Mubbashar sometimes ago.
A case has been registered against the accused under sections 452 (trespassing) and 506 (hurling threats) under the Pakistan Penal Code.
A UHS spokesman said that the varsity would not compromise on merit.Dawn
