IIUI Forms search committee for selection of Its President

Islamabad: 02 Feb: International Islamic University (IIU) Islamabad has announced that The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Rector Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik has formed a search committee for short-listing of three suitable candidates for the post of the president of the university. Justice Agha Rafique Ahmad, chief justice of Federal Shariat Court, Dr. Javaid H Leghari, chairman of the HEC, Shehnaz Wazir Ali, MNA & former advisor to the prime minister on education, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, former governor of the state bank of Pakistan, and Salman Bashir, secretary foreign affairs are members of the committee. Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik, Rector IIUI, is member / secretary of the committee.
The committee aims to ensure transparency in the process of selection of a suitable candidate for the post of the president of the university. In terms of relevant provision of the rules, the Rector IIUI is authorized to propose a panel of three names to the authority concerned for consideration of the appointment of the President IIUI. But the Rector preferred referring the case to the committee for processing in a transparent manner.
