PESHAWAR: The Standing Service Rules Committee of the Elementary and Secondary Education Department has approved the recently announced service structure for various cadres of teachers serving at the government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The structure was approved at a meeting presided by Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Arfeen, Special Secretary Fareed Qureshi, Additional Secretary Qaiser Alam, Education Section Reform Unit Director Raja Saad Khan and representatives from Finance and Law departments.
An official of the Elementary and Secondary Department told The News that a long-standing demand of the teacher community had been fulfilled. He said now the teachers with improved qualifications would have chances of promotion.
“A primary school teacher can become a headmaster of a high school if he acquires the required qualification,” he said. Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Sardar Hussain Babak had recently announced the service structure for government teachers at a teachers’ convention.The news
