New Commerce College approved in Balakot

PESHAWAR (APP): The government has approved a gigantic project worth Rs.120 million for the establishment of Commerce College for the children of workers and labrourers to make them useful citizens of the society. “The provincial government will provide 50 kanal land at Kashtra in Tehsil Balakot in Manshera district for the project,” NWFP Minister for Commerce and Industries Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah said while talking to people and government’s officials at the site of proposed project. He said the students would be imparted latest education in the field of commerce and skill development as well as professional studies like MBA and accounting. The Government, he said, is endeavoring hard for the uplift of earthquake affectees of Tehsil Balakot, adding that a skill development center is already functioning at Balakot while a project of Rs.120 million for establishment of commerce college for workers and labourers children has been approved by the federal government for which provincial government will provide 50 kanals of land at Kashtra in Tehsil Balakot. The devastating earthquake of October 2005 has severely effected people of Balakot, he said, adding the government was taking necessary steps to improve the socio- economic condition of the effectees. He said a skill development center has already been established at village Garlat in old city while the building of the said center was under completion in village Hussa. Keeping in view the economic condition and unemployment, he said the government has proposed a full fledged commerce college at Kushtra for which necessary arrangements were underway. After starting of the construction work on this gigantic project, he said the NWFP government will make arrangements for the commencement of classes near the Kushtra Colony. During the inspection of Skill Development Center at Balakot, the Minister took immense keen interest in the various disciplines being taught and especially he appreciated the aluminum techniques and underlined the need to create awareness among people of the area about the use of aluminum in construction work and to replace wood with aluminum as it is less costly and also helps in preservation of forests. He stressed the need to use pamphlets, media as well as awareness seminars to propagate this project so that the message is reached to every individual of the society so that this project can achieve its real goal.
