Agriculture University Send 5 Relief Trucks

FAISALABAD: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has dispatched 5 truckloads of food items for flood victims of Jampur,district Rajanpur,and Shah Jamal,district Muzaffargarh. The relief goods included flour bags, clothes, shoes, pulses, edible oil, dry food, animal feed and potable drinking water worth of Rs 2 million. Speaking on the occasion, UAF Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan reiterated that another consignment of relief goods worth Rs 50 million was also in the offing. During first phase relief goods worth of Rs 5 million were dispatched to flood affected areas and these relief items were handed over to the victims by University Rover Scouts and Volunteers. "The collection of donations at university would be continued till the crisis would last",he said. In the second phase UAF would initiate rehabilitation activities.He said that 5000 maunds of wheat seed was being prepared to be distributed among the farmers for the forth coming sowing season during this phase. He added that small farming tools, fertilizers and other inputs would also be distributed among the growers who suffered flood losses.(APP)
