GHALLANAI: The political administration on Tuesday asked the staff of the Education and Health Departments to resume their duties within a week in their respective places or else resign.
Addressing a joint meeting of teachers and staff members of Health Department, who were called to Ghallanai to apprise them of the government decision, Assistant Political Agent Roshan Khan Mahsud told the participants that they must resume their duties in the areas where the operation had ended till December 1.
He said the employees who did not want to return to work should tender resignation paving the way for appointment of fresh staff, warning that services of those defying the orders would be terminated forthwith. “We have firmly decided to reopen all the educational institutions and health centres to facilitate the people,” he said.
The official said that Pandyalai tehsil, Parang Ghar, Tarakzai, Halimzai, Khwezai, Anbar and Safi tehsil had been cleared in the operation and now there was no justification for dereliction of duty.
Officials of Education Department and leaders of teacher community also spoke on the occasion and put forward some demands.
Meanwhile, a jirga of elders of Baizai tehsil called on Assistant Political Agent Maqsood Hassan and discussed the ways and means for repatriation of dislocated tribesmen.THE NEWS
