the development of permanent exchange networks by providing assistance to teams of researchers from Canada
and one or more countries in order to organize seminars or other forms of research linkages."

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)
"The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral
students by offering them a significant financial award to assist them during their studies at Canadian universities.
Vanier Scholars demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in the social sciences and
humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields. Canadian and international students are eligible
to be nominated for a Vanier Scholarship, which is valued at $50,000 per year for three years"

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
"Canada is building world-class research capacity by recruiting top-tier postdoctoral researchers at an internationally
competitive level of funding and positioning them for success as the research leaders of tomorrow. These prestigious two-year fellowships, worth $70,000 per year, are open to both Canadian and international researchers who have recently completed a PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree."

Industrial Postgraduate Scholarships Program
"Industrial Postgraduate Scholarships (IPS) provide financial support for highly qualified science and engineering
graduates. The support allows them to gain research experience in industry while undertaking advanced studies
in Canada. These scholarships are aimed at encouraging scholars to consider research careers in industry where
they will be able to contribute to strengthening Canadian innovation. "

Visiting Fellowships in Canadian Government Laboratories Program
The Visiting Fellowships in Canadian Government Laboratories (VF) Program provides promising emerging scientists and engineers with the opportunity to work with research groups or leaders in Canadian government laboratories and researchinstitutions. Fellowships are awarded for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second and third year, at the discretion of the government department concerned. Candidates should be aware that placement on the inventory does not guarantee a fellowship; it is a preliminary requirement only.

Research Development Initiatives
"Program not currently offered. Developing high-quality research depends on establishing and promoting
environments necessary for the generation of new knowledge and for experimentation in new methods,
approaches and ideas. Such development requires theoretical and methodological experimentation in the early
stages of the research process. Accordingly, the Research Development Initiatives (RDI) program supports
research that both assesses and elicits the changing directions of research and the evolution of disciplines in
the humanities and social sciences"
